No. DoseGuard works without an account, email, or sign-up. Open the app, add your medications, and you're set. An account is only needed if you want to use the optional caregiver sharing features in the future.
When you first install DoseGuard, you get 7 days of full access to every feature at no cost. No credit card is required for the trial. After 7 days, a one-time purchase of $9.99 unlocks the app forever. There is no subscription and you will never be charged again.
No. DoseGuard supports unlimited medications, during the trial and after purchase. There is no cap, tier, or premium upgrade required to add more medications.
This is almost always caused by your device's battery optimization settings killing DoseGuard in the background. Here's how to fix it by device brand:
Samsung: Settings > Battery > Background usage limits > Never sleeping apps > add DoseGuard. Also: Settings > Apps > DoseGuard > Battery > Unrestricted.
Xiaomi/MIUI: Settings > Apps > Manage apps > DoseGuard > Autostart (enable). Also: Security app > Permissions > Autostart > DoseGuard (enable).
Huawei: Settings > Battery > App launch > DoseGuard > Manage manually > enable all three toggles.
OnePlus: Settings > Battery > Battery optimization > DoseGuard > Don't optimize.
iPhone: Make sure notifications are enabled in Settings > Notifications > DoseGuard. If reminders are still missing, try restarting your phone.
If none of these fix the issue, contact us at support@moosemediafsj.ca with your device model and operating system version.
Yes, for medications you mark as "critical." On iPhone, DoseGuard uses Apple's Critical Alerts feature, which delivers reminders with sound even when Do Not Disturb or a Focus mode is active. On Android, critical medication alarms use the highest-priority notification channel. You choose which medications are critical when you add them.
Yes. DoseGuard supports reminders at any interval: every X hours, every X days, or every X weeks. You can also choose between "fixed" mode (dose stays on the original schedule regardless of when you take it) and "floating" mode (the next dose shifts based on when you actually take the current one).
Each medication can have 1 to 4 reminders. Each reminder can be: quiet (silent notification), with sound (standard notification sound), loud alarm (persistent alarm that's hard to miss), or caregiver alert (notifies a family member). You configure these per medication. If you dismiss a reminder during a meeting, DoseGuard lets you choose a quiet or noisy follow-up at 15, 30, or 60 minutes.
Yes. All your data stays on your device. DoseGuard does not have servers, does not collect analytics, and does not share data with anyone. We cannot see your medications, doses, or any other information you enter. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
If you delete DoseGuard without enabling cloud backup, all your data is permanently deleted with the app. We cannot recover it because we never had access to it. We recommend enabling the optional iCloud or Google Drive backup in Settings before uninstalling.
Go to Settings > Backup. You can back up to your iCloud account (iPhone) or Google Drive account (Android). The backup is stored in your own cloud storage. DoseGuard does not have access to it. You can also export all your data as a PDF or CSV from Settings > Export all data.
Go to Settings > Restore Purchases. This checks with the App Store or Play Store and restores your purchase at no cost. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you used for the original purchase.
No. DoseGuard is a one-time purchase of $9.99. You pay once and get every feature forever. There is no monthly or annual subscription. There are no additional in-app purchases beyond the initial unlock.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by DoseGuard directly. For iPhone: visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android: open Google Play > Account > Purchase history > DoseGuard > Request a refund. Both platforms typically process refund requests within 48 hours.
Yes. You can create separate profiles for family members (like "Mom" or "Dad") and manage all their medications from your device. The Family Dashboard shows everyone's status at a glance and alerts you if someone misses a critical dose.
Yes. Create a group like "Morning stack" or "Bedtime meds" and assign medications to it. You'll receive one notification for the entire group instead of separate notifications for each medication. You can log the entire group as taken with a single tap.
No. DoseGuard is a reminder and tracking tool. It does not provide medical advice, check for drug interactions, or verify dosage accuracy. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist for questions about your medications.
